Overview
Chevrolet has brought back the Blazer name as an electric vehicle for 2024, disappointing fans of the original who were hoping for a rugged, off-road SUV. The Blazer EV features General Motors' Ultium battery technology and is available in four models, including the high performance SS trim with 557 horsepower and a sub-four-second 0-60 mph time. However, for those seeking a more affordable and less powerful option, three other models are available. The RS trim boasts the longest range, with Chevy claiming it can go up to 320 miles on a single charge. The Blazer EV will compete against the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and the Tesla Model Y Performance.
Interior, Comfort, and Storage
The Blazer EV has a sporty and aggressive exterior styling, which is nicely complemented by its interior design. The SUV has only two rows of seating, and from the photos we can see that round air vents are placed on either side of the dashboard. The RS and SS trims have a two-tone black-and-red color scheme, although we expect that a more monotone look will also be available for those who prefer a less flashy interior. Legroom is adequate in both rows, but headroom may be an issue for taller passengers, as we found when we sat in a pre-production SS model. We plan to test the Blazer EV's cargo capacity with our carry on suitcase test and will update this story with the results.

Electric Motor, Power, and Performance
Chevrolet has not yet disclosed the horsepower figures for the 1LT, 2LT, or RS models of the Blazer EV. However, the range-topping SS trim will be equipped with a 557-hp electric powertrain and standard all-wheel drive, and Chevy claims it can reach 60 mph in under 4.0 seconds. The 1LT model is only available with front-wheel drive, while the 2LT can be had with either front- or all-wheel drive. interestingly the RS trim offers the choice between front- or rear-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive being an optional feature. We will update this story with more information about the available powertrains of the Blazer EV as it becomes available.
Range, Charging, and Battery Life
Although Chevrolet has not provided much information on the battery pack sizes available for the Blazer EV we do know that the RS trim will have the highest EPA-estimated driving range in the lineup, at 320 miles. the entry level 1LT model is expected to provide around 247 miles per charge, while the 2LT and SS trims offer claimed ranges of 293 and 290 miles, respectively. The Blazer EV will support DC fast charging and can charge at up to 190 kW, adding approximately 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes, according to Chevrolet.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe

Infotainment and Connectivity
All Blazer EV models come equipped with a large 17.7-inch infotainment display that's angled slightly towards the driver and bordered on the left and bottom by physical controls for the climate control system and a volume knob. A secondary 11.0-inch display presents the driver with gauges and other driving information. While Chevy hasn't disclosed specifics about the Blazer EV's infotainment system, we anticipate it will feature GM's latest system, which is based on Android Auto. We also expect a variety of connectivity features to come standard, such as Apple Carplay, Android auto, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.
